THERAPIST    LIFE COACH     WRITER

Shellee Moore

Are you tired of feeling sick and tired, and just want to feel like your old self again?  Do you feel stressed out, overwhelmed and miss the happiness and joy you used to feel?  Are you worried about your marriage, your family, your kids?  Does it seem like you’re just going through the motions of everyday life?  Have you tried to overcome the depression, anxiety and stress on your own, but feel stuck and unable to move forward?  Maybe you’ve tried therapy before, but with disappointing results.  While I don’t have a magic wand, I do have a unique approach that may be just right for you.

My approach combines therapy, coaching, education and resources to help you find solutions to the issues that are causing you pain.  Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, parenting issues, relationship problems, codependency, perfectionism, people pleasing, ADD/ADHD or food addiction, please know that there are effective strategies and solutions to address these issues.  I understand that it may be difficult to take the first step, but I will do everything possible to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to overcome the symptoms that are causing distress in your life.  I will help you make peace with your past, engage in the present, and have hope for the future!

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

I love being a therapist and helping you achieve your goals.  My goal is to help you feel more hopeful even after just one session.  After almost 30 years in practice in CA, I have learned how important and healing it is to offer hope, support and encouragement.  I continue to be inspired and honored to make a difference in the lives of my clients.  As a former teacher, I also incorporate teaching strategies to help you and your family. I work virtually with adults, couples and families and offer phone, FaceTime or zoom as a way to meet with clients who are residents of CA.

FACETIME, ZOOM, OR PHONE SESSIONS- YOU HAVE CHOICES!

My MFT license allows me to work with clients who are residents of CA. You may choose a phone, FaceTime or zoom session.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT THERAPIST FOR YOU?

Clients are often referred to me by doctors, clients, teachers, or the local school district.  It’s helpful when you have a referral from a trusted source.  But, how do you choose a therapist when you find them online?  Clients who find me online often tell me they contacted me because of my

Motto- see below:

DON'T SPEND MORE TIME IN THERAPY DISCUSSING YOUR CHILDHOOD THAN IT TOOK TO LIVE IT!

My motto sums up exactly what I believe about the therapy process, which makes my style and counseling approach unique.  I can help you overcome the symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as issues relating to marriage or family problems without spending years in therapy.  Perhaps you’re struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, avoiding conflict, food addiction, relationship concerns or trouble setting boundaries.   Therapy may help you overcome your symptoms and achieve dramatic results in a relatively short period of time.  The treatment process is personalized to your specific needs and expectations.

We begin by identifying the problem and figuring out what may be causing your symptoms of anxiety, depression, or stress.  My approach to therapy is not just listening and nodding my head, then saying- “You must be very sad/frustrated/upset right now.” If that is all you are looking for, I am not the right therapist for you.

Instead, we will identify the problem, the severity of the problem and the best course of treatment.  Together we create a step by step customized plan that includes education, resources, coping skills, problem solving, interventions, and action steps to help you move forward.  If and when you get stuck, we modify and tweak the plan as needed.

In the past I believed that knowledge is power.  Now I think that knowledge plus action equals results.  Once you’ve achieved your goals and feel satisfied that you have the tools you need, you’re ready to graduate.  If your symptoms return or other issues arise, you are always welcome to return for what I like to call a "tune up."
